G38-16Ordinance No. G38-16 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6.06 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR DEALERS" BY AMENDING CERTAIN PENALTY PROVISIONS THEREIN AND TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CLASS B AND CLASS F LIQUOR LICENSES NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Section 6.06.030 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, entitled "License; Required:" be and is hereby further amended to read as follows: No person shall sell, barter, transport, deliver, solicit, or receive orders for, keep or expose for sale, keep with intent to sell, or furnish any alcoholic liquor for beverage purposes for sale at retail without being first licensedto do so by the local liquor control commission of the city. Any person, firm or corporation violating this section shall be fined not less than $1,000.00 for a first offense and not less than $2,000.00 for a second or subsequent offense." Section 2. That Section 6.06.050 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, entitled "Licenses; Number to be Issued:" be and is hereby further amended by amending subparagraphs D and Q thereof to read as follows: D. The number of class B licenses shall not exceed twenty five (25) in number." Q. The number of class F licenses shall not exceed nine (9) in number." Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby repealedto the extent of any such conflict. Section 4.
