G18-10 Ordinance No. G18-10 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.52 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE. 1976, AS AMENDED. ENTITLED "POLICE DEPARTMENT" BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Section 2.52.130 of the Elgin Municipal Code; 1976;as amended,entitled "Retirement" of the Elgin Municipal Code, as amended, be and is hereby further amended to read as follows: "2. 2.130: RETIREMENT: It is provided that sixty-three (63) years is the maximum age for the legal employment of any person as a member of the police department of the city. Any member of such police department arriving at the age of sixty there (63) years shall be automatically retired and discharged. Notwithstanding the foregoing.any member of the police department who will obtain thirty(30)years of police pension creditable service with the police department after arriving at the age of sixty three (63) years but prior to arriving at the age of sixty four(64) years may continue as a member of the police department of the city until the date upon which such member obtains such thirty(30)years of creditable service whereupon such member shall be automatically retired and discharged." Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby repealed. Section 3.
