AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ELGIN
(Meier Property—Nesler Road)
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of record of certain territory has been filed
with the City Clerk requesting annexation of said territory to the City of Elgin, Illinois; and
WHEREAS,said petition includes therein a statement under oath by all the owners of record
that no electors reside on the subject territory; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Elgin and is not within the corporate
limits of any municipality; and
WHEREAS,legal notices of the intent of the City of Elgin to annex said territory have been
forwarded to all public bodies required to receive said notice in the manner provided by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory and lands described as follows be and are annexed to and
made a part of the City of Elgin and the boundaries of the City of Elgin be and are hereby enlarged
and extended to include in the corporate boundaries of the City of Elgin said territory:
That part of Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 8 East, of the Third
Principal Meridian, described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of said
Section 18; thence South along the West line of said Northeast Quarter 462 feet to
the center line of U.S. Route 20; thence North 64 degrees 05 minutes West along
said centerline 30.36 feet;thence South 64 degrees 05 minutes East along said center
line of Highway 925.4 feet; thence South 64 degrees 05 minutes East along said
center line 882.86 feet to a point 289.74 feet westerly of the intersection of the center
of said highway with the center of a road running northeasterly through said
Section 18;thence South 31 degrees 30 minutes West parallel with the center of said
road 792.99 feet; thence South 64 degrees 05 minutes East 289.74 feet to the center
of said road; thence South 31 degrees 21 minutes West 1,868.62 feet to an angle in
said road; thence South 50 degrees 05 minutes West 170 feet; thence South 40
degrees 47 minutes West along the center of said road 2,335 feet; thence North 49
degrees 39 minutes West 1,502 feet;thence North 46 degrees 28 minutes East 992.2
feet; thence North 46 degrees 39 minutes East 119.08 feet to the point of beginning
of this description;thence continuing North 46 degrees 39 minutes East 300.00 feet;
•. thence South 43 degrees 21 minutes East, perpendicular to the previous course
1,368.16 feet to the center of the aforesaid road running northeasterly through said
Section 18; thence South 40 degrees 47 minutes West along the center of said road
301.53 feet to a point that is South 43 degrees 21 minutes East from the point of
beginning; thence North 43 degrees 21 minutes West 1,398.54 feet to the point of
beginning,situated in the Township of Elgin,County of Kane,in the State of Illinois.
Section 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate map of said
territories shall be filed with the Recorder of Deeds, Kane County, Illinois.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after its passage
in the manner provided by law.
