AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 11.60 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976,
AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
Section 1. That Section 11.60.050, subparagraph C, of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976,
as amended, entitled"Stopping, Standing, Parking Prohibited Where,"be and is hereby further
amended to read as follows:
At any time, it is unlawful to permit any vehicle to park or stand in any of the following
places except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with
the direction of a policeman or traffic signal, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle:
"C. On any sidewalk, parkway, tree bank, or driveway approach when such driveway
approach is located within the public right of way and adjacent to an improved street;"
Section 2. That Section 11.60.050, subparagraph 0, of the Elgin Municipal Code,
1976, as amended, entitled "Standing, Stopping and Parking Prohibited Where" be and is hereby
further amended by deleting from the list of streets where parking is prohibited the following:
rift "Van Street- South -Between South Alfred Avenue to South Aldine Street between the
hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days."
Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance be and are hereby repealed.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and
publication in the manner provided by law.
