AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CERTAIN PARKING RESTRICTIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF ELGIN
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Chapter 11.60 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended,be and is
hereby further amended by amending Section 11.14.035 entitled"Left Turns Prohibited"to add the
following locations:
From Weld Road onto westbound Route 20
From eastbound Lawrence Avenue onto northbound Route 31
Section 2. That Chapter 11.60 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended,be and is
hereby further amended by adding to the list of streets where parking is prohibited under
Section 11.60.0500 the following:
Billings Street-East-Between Washburn and Oak Street Between the hours of 8:00 A.M.to
�w. 9:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. on school days
Highland Avenue, West, south side,between Crystal Avenue to Hamilton Avenue
Highland Avenue, West,north side,between State Street and Hamilton Avenue
Horace Drive,both sides,between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on school days.
Section 3. That Chapter 11.60 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended,be and is
hereby further amended by deleting from the list of streets where parking is prohibited under
Section 11.60.0500 the following:
Highland Avenue,West,South side,Crystal Avenue to Monroe Street,between the hours of
2:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
Section 4. That Chapter 11.60 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended,be and is
hereby amended by amending Section 11.60.083 entitled "One Hour Parking Zones" to delete the
following:
Prairie Street, both sides thereof, from South Grove Avenue to Wellington Avenue
Section 5. That Chapter 11.60 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended,be and is
hereby further amended by amending Section 11.60.083.2 entitled"Ninety Minute Parking Zones"to
rik read as follows:
South Spring Street,east side thereof,from the former railroad right of way southerly
to DuPage Street, except for the northernmost twenty feet (20')
Section 6. That Chapter 11.60 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended,be and is
hereby amended by amending Section 11.60.084 entitled "Two Hour Parking Zones" to read as
follows:
Chicago Street Bridge, south side thereof, from the Commuter Rail Division of RTA tracks
to Riverside Drive, except for the westerly two spaces.
Section 7. That Chapter 11.60 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended,be and is
hereby amended by amending Section 11.60.084.5 entitled "Four Hour Parking Zones" to read as
follows:
South Grove Avenue, east side thereof, from a point 173 feet south of the intersection with
Prairie Street to Lake Street
Section 8. That Chapter 11.60 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended,be and is
hereby further amended by amending Section 11.60.086 entitled "Ten Hour Parking Zones" by
deleting from the list the following locations:
Municipal parking lot at the South West corner of Prairie Street and Wellington Avenue.
Section 9. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance be and are hereby repealed.
Section 10. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten days after its passage in
the manner provided by law.
