G62-05 (2) Ordinance No. G62-05 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING A DISCOUNT ON FEES FOR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY PERSONNEL BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the active duty military personnel meeting the qualifications described in this ordinance shall receive a fifty percent(50%)discount on daily fees and charges for City of Elgin recreation activities at the City of Elgin golf courses, swimming pools, The Centre and parks. In order to qualify for such discount, such person must be an active duty member of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard and be a resident of the City of Elgin or be accompanied by a resident of the City of Elgin when requesting the discount for the daily recreational fee or charge. For the purposes of this ordinance active duty shall be defined to mean full time duty in the active military service of the United States Army,Navy,Air Force,Marines or Coast Guard, other than active duty for training. Such person must produce an active duty military identification card and identification identifying themself as a City of Elgin resident or the person accompanying them as a City of Elgin resident. Section 2. That in the event of any conflict between the provisions of this ordinance and any other ordinance or sections thereof the provisions of this ordinance shall supersede and control. Section 3.
