AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 11 . 60 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976 , AS
AMENDED, ENTITLED "STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That Section 11 . 60 . 140 of the Elgin Municipal
Code, 1976 , as amended, entitled "Parking for Certain Purposes
Prohibited" be and is hereby further amended to read as follows :
"11 . 60 . 140 PARKING FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES PROHIBITED:
No person shall park a vehicle upon any roadway,
city-owned parking lot , parking deck or other city
owned property for the principal purpose of :
A. Displaying such vehicle for sale; or
B. Washing, maintenance or repair of such
vehicle except for repairs necessitated by
emergency.
The provisions of this section shall not apply to
authorized City of Elgin employees and City of Elgin
owned vehicles . "
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby
repealed.
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage in the manner provided by law.
