AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 3 . 03 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976,
AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "MEETINGS; GENERAL PROVISIONS"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That Section 3 . 03 . 050 of the Elgin Municipal Code,
1976, as amended, entitled "Limitation on Terms" be and is hereby
further amended to read as follows :
"3 . 03 . 050 LIMITATION ON TERMS .
Members of any city board, commission or committee
shall be limited to a maximum term of six (6) consecutive
years as a member of the same board, commission or
committee and an additional six (6) consecutive years as
chairman of the same board, commission or committee. For
the purpose of determining the length of service an
unexpired term shall not be included in making such
determination. Such limitation shall not apply to ex-
officio members of boards, commissions or committees,
city officials, officers or employees who are members of
boards, commissions or committees or to members of the
board of health, building commission, board of stationary
engineers and the property maintenance board of appeals. "
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby
repealed.
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect upon its passage in the manner provided by law.
