AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 11 . 60 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976,
AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That Subsection J of Section 11 . 60 . 050 of the
Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby deleted
and Subsections K through Q be and are hereby relettered as
Subsections J through P .
Section 2 . That Section 11 . 60 . 050P of the Elgin Municipal
Code, as amended, entitled "Stopping, Standing, Parking
Prohibited Where : " be and is hereby further amended by deleting
from the list of streets where parking is prohibited the
following:
Street Side Area/Time of Restriction
Division Street North From 62 feet east of the
intersection with the
Chicago and Northwestern
Railroad tracks .
Division Street North From 20 feet east of the
intersection with the
Chicago and Northwestern
Railroad tracks .
Lake Street South Villa Street to C . & N.W.
Railway tracks .
National Street Both From the C. & N.W. Railway
tracks to the east bank of
the Fox River.
National Street North From the Chicago, Milwaukee
and St . Paul Railroad
tracks to South Side
Street .
Spring Street, North East From East Chicago Street,
southerly to the Chicago
and Northwestern Railroad
tracks .
Walnut Avenue From the west bank of the
Fox River to Hendee Street .
Section 3 . That Section 11 . 60 . 050P of the Elgin Municipal
Code, as amended, entitled "Stopping, Standing, Parking
Prohibited Where : " be and is hereby further amended by adding to
the list of streets where parking is prohibited the following:

Section 4 . That Section 11 . 60 . 156 of the Elgin Municipal
Code, 1976, as amended, entitled "Handicapped Parking Spaces" ,
be and is hereby further amended to read as follows :
11 . 60 . 156 : HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES :
When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no
person shall park a vehicle, which is not bearing
registration plates or decals issued to a handicapped
person, within the parking lots or on any of the
streets hereinafter set forth:
Big Timber Lot, at Lyle, fourteen (14) spaces;
Center, at Dundee, two (2) spaces;
The Centre, six (6) spaces;
City Hall, south of Dexter, four (4) spaces;
City of Elgin Law Enforcement Facility, west driveway,
the southern two (2) spaces;
Civic Center Lot, five (5) spaces;
Civic Center Deck, eight (8) spaces;
North Side of East Chicago Street, West of Center
Street, one (1) space;
South Side of Fulton and DuPage, three (3) spaces;

Geneva, between Fulton and DuPage, three (3) spaces;
Geneva, between Highland and Division, three (3)
spaces;
Geneva, between Highland and Chicago, three (3)

Section 5 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and hereby
are repealed.
Section 6 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and publication in the manner
provided by law.
