AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 2 . 40 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976, AS
AMENDED, BY AMENDING THE FEES FOR EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That Chapter 2 . 40 of the Elgin Municipal Code,
1976 , as amended, entitled "Fire Department" be and is hereby
further amended by amending Section 2 . 40 . 260 to read as follows :
"2 .40 . 260 FEE; RESIDENTS WITHIN CORPORATE LIMITS :
Elgin residents receiving emergency ambulance
service from the Fire Department of the City within the
corporate limits of the City shall pay the prevailing
Medicare/Medicaid emergency medical service rates for
basic life support and advanced life support . "
Section 2 . That Chapter 2 . 40 of the Elgin Municipal Code,
1976, as amended, entitled "Fire Department" be and is hereby
further amended by amending Section 2 . 40 . 265 to read as follows :
eft. "2 . 40 . 265 FEE; NONRESIDENTS :
Nonresidents of the City receiving emergency
ambulance service from the Fire Department of the City
within the corporate limits of the City shall pay the
prevailing Medicare/Medicaid emergency medical service
rates plus an additional 25% for basic life support and
advanced life support . "
Section 3 . That Chapter 2 . 40 of the Elgin Municipal Code,
1976 , as amended, entitled "Fire Department" be and is hereby
further amended by amending Section 2 . 40 . 270 to read as follows :
"2 . 40 . 270 FEE; OUTSIDE OF CORPORATE LIMITS :
Persons receiving emergency ambulance service from
the Fire Department of the City outside the corporate
limits of the City shall pay the prevailing
Medicare/Medicaid emergency medical service rates plus an
additional 25% for basic life support and advanced life
support . "
Section 4 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby
repealed.
Section 5 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after January 1, 2002 .
