AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING TO THE
LIST OF STOP INTERSECTIONS AND AMENDING CERTAIN SPEED LIMITS
(Channing at Division Street and W. Highland Avenue)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That Title 11, Chapter 11 . 32 of the Elgin Municipal
Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended by adding to
the list of stop intersections under Section 11 . 32 . 030 the following:
Channing Street . All vehicles being operated on
Channing Street must stop at Division Street before crossing
or entering the same.
Section 2 . That Section 11 .20 . 030D of Chapter 11 .20 of the Elgin
Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended by
deleting from the list of 35 miles per hour speed zones the following:
West Highland Avenue from Thomas More Drive to two
hundred fifteen feet (2151 ) west of Trinity Terrace.
Section 3 . That Section 11 .20 . 030D of Chapter 11 .20 of the Elgin
Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended by
adding to the list of 35 miles per hour speed zones the following:
West Highland Avenue from Thomas More Drive to Randall
Road.
Section 4 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby
repealed.
Section 5 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage in the manner provided b law
