AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ELGIN
(Northwest Business Park)
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of record of
certain territory has been filed with the City Clerk
requesting annexation of said territory to the City of Elgin,
Illinois; and
WHEREAS, said petition includes therein a statement under
oath by all the owners of record that no electors reside on
the subject territory; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of
Elgin and is not within the corporate limits of any
municipality; and
WHEREAS, legal notice of the intent of the City of Elgin
to annex said territory have been forwarded to all public
bodies required to receive said notice in the manner provided
by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS :

Section 1 . That the territory and lands described as
follows be and are annexed to and made a part of the City of
Elgin and the boundaries of the City of Elgin be and are
hereby enlarged and extended to include in the corporate
boundaries of the City of Elgin said territory:
THAT PART OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER AND THE SOUTHEAST
QUARTER OF SECTION 19, TOWNSHIP 42 NORTH, RANGE 8
EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN DESCRIBED AS
FOLLOWS :
COMMENCING AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID SOUTHWEST
QUARTER; THENCE NORTH 88 DEGREES 33 MINUTES 19
SECONDS EAST ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF SAID SOUTHWEST
QUARTER, A DISTANCE OF 659 . 68 FEET TO A POINT ON THE
WEST LINE OF THE EAST HALF OF THE WEST HALF OF SAID
SOUTHWEST QUARTER FOR A POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE
CONTINUING NORTH 88 DEGREES 33 MINUTES 19 SECONDS
EAST ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER,
A DISTANCE OF 1993 . 05 FEET TO THE NORTHEAST CORNER
OF LANDS CONVEYED TO THE STATE OF ILLINOIS
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AS ILLINOIS ROUTE 72 AS
DEDICATED BY DOCUMENT NUMBER 97K058996 ALSO BEING
THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER;

ALONG THE EAST LINE OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER, A
DISTANCE OF 1982 . 90 FEET, TO A POINT ON A LINE 10
r CHAINS (660 FEET) NORTH OF AND PARALLEL WITH THE
SOUTH LINE OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER; THENCE SOUTH
88 DEGREES 36 MINUTES 23 SECONDS WEST ALONG SAID
PARALLEL LINE, A DISTANCE OF 2003 . 12 FEET TO A POINT
ON THE WEST LINE OF THE EAST HALF OF THE WEST HALF
OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER, THENCE NORTH 01 DEGREES
10 MINUTES 05 SECONDS WEST ALONG SAID WEST LINE, A
DISTANCE OF 1981 . 13 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING
AND ALSO THOSE PORTIONS OF HIGGINS ROAD (ILLINOIS
ROUTE 72) LYING ADJACENT TO THE ABOVE DESCRIBED
PARCEL, CONTAINING 92 . 52 ACRES OF LAND MORE OR LESS,
ALL IN KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS .
Section 2 . That a certified copy of this ordinance
together with an accurate map of said territories shall be
filed with the Recorder of Deeds, Kane County, Illinois .
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect immediately after its passage in the manner
provided by law.
