AN ORDINANCE
RECLASSIFYING PROPERTY AT 713 LAUREL STREET
WHEREAS, written application has been made to reclassify
certain property located at 713 Laurel Street from CF Community
Facility District to CI Commercial Industrial District; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Development Commission has
conducted a public hearing after due notice and submitted its
written findings and recommendations to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations
of the Planning and Development Commission and concurs in such
recommendations .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That Chapter 19 . 07 , Section 19 . 07 . 600 entitled
"Zoning District Map" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976 , as
amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by adding
thereto the following paragraph:
"The boundaries hereinafter laid out in the
' Zoning District Map' , as amended, be and are hereby
altered by excluding from the CF Community Facility
District and including in the CI Commercial
Industrial District, the following described
property:
THAT PART OF LOT 26 IN COUNTY CLERK' S DIVISION
OF UNSUBDIVIDED LANDS IN THE SOUTH HALF ( 1/2 ) OF
SECTION 18, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 9, EAST OF THE
THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS :
COMMENCING AT AN IRON STAKE IN THE SOUTH LINE OF
LAUREL STREET IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, 100 . 0
FEET EAST OF AN IRON STAKE MARKING THE DIVIDING LINES
BETWEEN THE COUNTIES OF KANE AND COOK, THENCE SOUTH
PARALLEL WITH SAID DIVIDING LINE 228 FEET; THENCE
EAST PARALLEL WITH THE SOUTH LINE OF LAUREL STREET
AFORESAID 84 . 4 FEET TO THE EAST LINE OF SAID LOT 26 ;
THENCE NORTH PARALLEL WITH THE DIVIDING LINE BETWEEN
KANE AND COOK COUNTIES AFORESAID 228 FEET TO AN IRON
STAKE ON THE SOUTH LINE OF LAUREL STREET AFORESAID
THENCE WEST ALONG THE SOUTH LINE OF SAID LAUREL
STREET 84 . 4 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING, KANE
COUNTY, ELGIN, ILLINOIS. "
Section 2 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage in the manner provided by
law.
