I , Dolonna Mecum, certify that I am the duly appointed
and acting municipal clerk of the City of Elgin, Cook and Kane
Counties, Illinois .
I further certify that on February 12 , 1997 , the
Corporate Authorities of such municipality passed and approved
Ordinance No. G7-97 , entitled An Ordinance Amending the
Historic Architectural Rehabilitation Grant Program, which
provided by its terms that it should be published in pamphlet
form.
The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. G7-97 , including
the Ordinance and a cover sheet thereof, was prepared, and a
copy of such Ordinance was posted in the municipal building,
commencing on February 13, 1997 , and continuing for at least
ten days thereafter. Copies of such Ordinance were also
available for public inspection upon request in the office of
the municipal clerk.

AN ORDINANCE
elk AMENDING THE HISTORIC ARCHITECTURAL REHABILITATION
GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Chapter 20 . 15 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976,
as amended, provides for the City' s Historic/Architectural
Rehabilitation Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, Section 20 . 15 . 050 requires completion of
historic/architectural rehabilitation within a twelve ( 12 )
month period from the date of the execution of the agreement;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in
the best interest of the City of Elgin to amend the program to
allow eighteen ( 18) months for completion of historic/architec-
tural rehabilitation of residential structures .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That Section 20 . 15 . 050 of the Elgin Municipal
Code, 1976 , as amended, entitled "Historic/Architectural
Rehabilitation Grant Program" be and is hereby further amended
by amending Subsection E( 2 ) to read as follows :
"2 . The applicant shall complete the historic/
architectural rehabilitation of the residential
structure which is the subject of the agreement in
compliance with the Secretary of the Interior' s
Standards for Rehabilitation and Guidelines for
Rehabilitating Historic Buildings and in
conformance
with the Certificate of Appropriateness within an
eighteen ( 18) month period from the date of the
execution of the agreement. "
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are
hereby repealed.
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect ten days after its passage and publication in the
manner provided by law.
