AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 3 . 63 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE,
1976 , AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "PLUMBING COMMITTEE"
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin is a home rule unit pursuant to
Article VII of the Illinois Constitution; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin, as a home rule unit, may
exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its
government and affairs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin has
determined that it is necessary and desirable to amend the
appointment procedure for the appointment of members to the
city' s plumbing committee; and
WHEREAS, the appointment of members to the city' s plumbing
committee pertains to the government and affairs of the City of
Elgin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That Section 3 . 63 . 020 of the Elgin Municipal
Code, 1976 , as amended, entitled "Membership--Terms" be and is
hereby amended by amending Subparagraph A thereof to read as
tow follows :
"A. The plumbing committee shall be composed of
three members appointed by the city council . "
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof in
conflict with this ordinance be and are hereby repealed.
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and publication in the manner
provided by law.
