AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ELGIN
( 100 and 111 South Hawthorne Street)
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of record of
certain territory has been filed with the City Clerk
requesting annexation of said territory to the City of Elgin,
Illinois; and
WHEREAS, said petition includes therein a statement under
oath by all the owners of record that no electors reside on
the subject territory; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of
Elgin and is not within the corporate limits of any
municipality; and
WHEREAS, legal notice of the intent of the City of Elgin
to annex said territory have been forwarded to all public
bodies required to receive said notice in the manner provided
by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That the territory and lands described as
follows be and are annexed to and made a part of the City of
Elgin and the boundaries of the City of Elgin be and are
hereby enlarged and extended to include in the corporate
boundaries of the City of Elgin said territory:
The East Half of Lot 1 in Block 2 (except that
part taken for highway purposes) ; also that part of
Lot 4 in Block 2 described as follows : Beginning at
the Northeast corner of said lot; thence South along
the East line of said lot, 149 . 7 feet; thence
Northwesterly to a point on the North line of said
lot, 230 . 14 feet West of the point of beginning;
thence East along said North line 230 . 14 feet to the
point of beginning; also, that part of Lot 2 in
Block 3 lying Southerly of the following described
line: Beginning at a point in the East line of said
Lot 2, 76 feet Southerly of the Northeast corner of
said lot, as measured along the East line of said
lot; thence Southwesterly parallel with the North
line of said lot, 272 .5 feet to a point; thence
Southwesterly to a point in the West line of said
lot, 106 feet Southerly of the Northwest corner of
said lot as measured along the West line of said
lot; and also, Lot 3 in Block 3 (except that part
taken or used for U. S. 20 Bypass and as described to
the people of the State of Illinois by Document

Number 567849 and recorded November 7, 1946 , and
also except that part of said Lot 3 lying Southerly
of Weld Road) , all in Walter G. McIntosh and
Company' s Fox River Acres;
And Also, that part of U. S . Route 20 Bypass
lying Southerly of and contiguous to the above
described property;
And Also, that part of Larkin Avenue lying
Northerly of and contiguous to the above described
property (except that part previously annexed) ;
And Also, that part of Hawthorne Street lying
between the present Southerly right of way line of
Larkin Avenue and the present Northerly right of way
line of U.S . Route 20 Bypass;
All in Elgin Township, Kane County, Illinois .
Section 2 . That a certified copy of this ordinance
together with an accurate map of said territories shall be
filed with the Recorder of Deeds, Kane County, Illinois .
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect immediately after its passage in the manner
provided by law.
