AN ORDINANCE
VACATING A PORTION OF A PUBLIC STREET
(Seneca Street)
WHEREAS, the public interest will be served by vacating a
portion of a public street in the City of Elgin, Kane County,
Illinois, as shown in Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, said property is not necessary to serve the
public .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That a portion of a public street known as
Seneca Street in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois,
legally described as follows :
That part of Seneca Street, as heretofore
dedicated in P.J. Kimball Junior's 3rd Addition to
Elgin, being a subdivision in Section 12, Township
41 North, Range 8, East of the Third Principal
Meridian, bounded and described as follows :
Beginning at the point of intersection generated by
the North right-of-way line of Seneca Street and the
Northwesterly right-of-way line of Dundee Avenue;
thence 5 . 33°-42 ' -07" West, along the last described
line for a distance of 5 . 12 feet to a point; thence
north 56°-17 ' -53" West, on a line perpendicular to
the last described course, for a distance of 7 . 68
feet to a point on the North right-of-way line of
said Seneca Street; thence North 90°-00 ' -00" East,
on the last described line for a distance of 9 . 24
feet to the point of beginning, all in Kane County,
Illinois (containing 20 . 00 square feet) .
be and the same is hereby vacated.
Section 2 . That a certified copy of this ordinance
together with a plat of said vacated right of way be filed
with the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois .
Section 3 . That a certified copy of this ordinance
together with a plat of said vacated right of way be filed
with the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois .
Section 4 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect upon its passage.
