AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR CERTAIN PERMITS, LICENSES AND
INSPECTIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That Section 16 .48 .020 entitled "Building" of
Chapter 16 .48 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976 , as amended,
be and is hereby further amended by amending Subsection D to
read as follows :
D. Alterations and Repairs - All Uses .
(Plus Plan Review and Occupancy Fee
when applicable) .
Per thousand dollar valuation
or portion thereof $ 20 .00
Section 2 . That Section 16 . 48 . 030 entitled "Miscellaneous
Construction--All Uses" of Chapter 16 .48 of the Elgin
Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further
amended by amending Subsections C, F, J and L to read as
follows :

amended to read as follows :

Section 5 . That Section 16 . 48 . 060 entitled "Electrical"
of Chapter 16 .48 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as
amended, be and is hereby further amended by amending
Subsection C to read as follows :

Section 6 . That Section 3 .56 . 100 entitled "License Fees"
of Chapter 3 . 56 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976 as amended,
be and is hereby further amended to read as follows :
3 . 56 . 100 License Fees .
All fees shall be payable to the city upon
filing application whether for original appointment
or for renewal . No license or permit shall be
issued until such fee has been deposited with the
finance director or his designee.

Proof of residency shall be provided as required on
the application. Not more than two reexaminations
shall be permitted on any application.
Section 7 . That Chapter 6 . 78 entitled "Undertakers" of
the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby
repealed.
Section 8 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are
tow hereby repealed.
Section 9 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after January 1, 1997 .
