G55-96 4. Ordinance No. G55-96 AN ORDINANCE CLASSIFYING CERTAIN NEWLY ANNEXED TERRITORY ( 100 and 111 South Hawthorne Street) WHEREAS, the territory herein described has been annexed to the City of Elgin; and WHEREAS, written application has been made to classify said territory in the AB Area Business District; and WHEREAS, after due notice in the manner provided by law the Planning and Development Commission conducted a public hearing concerning said application and has submitted its written findings and recommendation; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin, Illinois, has reviewed the findings and recommendations of the Planning and Development Commission and concurs in its recommendation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1 . That Chapter 19 . 07 , Section 19 . 07 . 600 entitled "Zoning District Map" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976 , as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by adding thereto the following paragraph: "The boundaries hereinbefore laid out in the ' Zoning District Map' , as amended, be and are hereby altered by including in the AB Area Business District, the following described property: The East Half of Lot 1 in Block 2 (except that part taken for highway purposes) ; also that part of Lot 4 in Block 2 described as follows : Beginning at the Northeast corner of said lot; thence South along the East line of said lot, 149 . 7 feet; thence Northwesterly to a point on the North line of said lot, 230 . 14 feet West of the point of beginning; thence East along said North line 230 . 14 feet to the point of beginning; also, that part of Lot 2 in Block 3 lying Southerly of the following described line: Beginning at a point in the East line of said Lot 2, 76 feet Southerly of the Northeast corner of said lot, as measured along the East line of said lot; thence Southwesterly parallel with the North line of said lot, 272 .5 feet to a point; thence Southwesterly to a point in the West line of said lot, 106 feet Southerly of the Northwest corner of eft said lot as measured along the West line of said lot; and also, Lot 3 in Block 3 (except that part taken or used for U. S. 20 Bypass and as described to the people of the State of Illinois by Document Number 567849 and recorded November 7 , 1946 , and also except that part of said Lot 3 lying Southerly of Weld Road) , all in Walter G. McIntosh and Company's Fox River Acres; And Also, that part of U.S. Route 20 Bypass lying Southerly of and contiguous to the above described property; And Also, that part of Larkin Avenue lying Northerly of and contiguous to the above described property (except that part previously annexed) ; And Also, that part of Hawthorne Street lying between the present Southerly right of way line of Larkin Avenue and the present Northerly right of way line of U.S. Route 20 Bypass; All in Elgin Township, Kane County, Illinois .
