I , Dolonna Mecum, certify that I am the duly appointed
and acting municipal clerk of the City of Elgin, Cook and Kane
Counties, Illinois .
I further certify that on May 25, 1994, the Corporate
Authorities of such municipality passed and approved Ordinance
No. G25-94, entitled An Ordinance Repealing Chapter 10 .62 of
the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as Amended, Entitled
"Hunting/Trapping" which provided by its terms that it should be
published in pamphlet form.
The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. G25-94, including
the Ordinance and a cover sheet thereof, was prepared, and a
copy of such Ordinance was posted in the municipal building,
commencing on May 26, 1994, and continuing for at least ten
days thereafter. Copies of such Ordinance were also available
for public inspection upon request in the office of the
municipal clerk.

Ordinance No. G25-94
AN ORDINANCE
REPEALING CHAPTER 10. 62 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976,
AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "HUNTING/TRAPPING"
WHEREAS, Chapter 10 . 62 entitled "Hunting/Trapping" of the
Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, regulates hunting and
trapping within the city; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Wildlife Code provides in Section
520 ILCS 5/2 . 1 that the regulation and licensing of the taking
of wildlife in Illinois are exclusive powers and functions of
the state and a home rule unit may not regulate or license the
taking of wildlife; and
WHEREAS, other provisions exist within the Illinois
Wildlife Code which may be enforced by the city within the
corporate city limits which will allow the city to adequately
regulate hunting and trapping within the city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That Chapter 10 . 62 entitled "Hunting/Trapping"
esk of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby
repealed.
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are
hereby repealed.
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten ( 10) days after its passage and publication in the
manner provided by law.
