AN ORDINANCE
REPEALING CHAPTER 10 . 68 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976, AS
AMENDED, ENTITLED "BASKETBALL GOALS IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That Chapter 10 . 68 of the Elgin Municipal
Code, 1976, as amended, entitled "Basketball Goals in the
Public Right-of-Way" be and is hereby repealed.
Section 2 . That Ordinance No. G58-87 passed October 14,
1987 entitled "An Ordinance Providing for Revocable Permits
for Basketball Goals in the Public Right of Way" be and is
hereby repealed.
Section 3 . That notwithstanding any other provisions of
the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, or other
ordinances of the City, the placement of basketball goals in
any public street, alley, or other public way, is prohibited.
Section 4 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are
ee- hereby repealed.
Section 5 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and publication in the
manner provided by law.
