Corporate Authorities of such municipality passed and approved
Ordinance No. G6-92, entitled An Ordinance Amending Chapter
4 . 24 entitled "Hotel or Motel Room Rental Tax" of the Elgin
Municipal Code, 1976, as Amended.
The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. G6-92, including
the Ordinance and a cover sheet thereof, was prepared, and a
copy of such Ordinance was posted in the municipal building,
commencing on January 23, 1992, and continuing for at least ten
days thereafter. Copies of such Ordinance were also available
for public inspection upon request in the office of the
municipal clerk.

AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 4 . 24 ENTITLED "HOTEL OR MOTEL ROOM RENTAL TAX"
OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976, AS AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That Title 4 , Chapter 4 . 24 entitled "Hotel or
Motel Room Rental Tax" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as
amended, be and is hereby further amended by amending Section
4 .24 . 020A to read as follows :
A. There is levied and imposed a tax of four
percent of the rent charged for the privilege and
use of renting a hotel or motel room within the city
for each twenty-four-hour period or any portion
thereof for which a daily room charge is made;
provided however, that the tax shall not be levied
and imposed upon any person who rents a hotel or
motel room for more than thirty consecutive days or
to a person who works and lives in the same hotel or
motel .
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are
hereby repealed.
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after July 1, 1992 .
