G72-91,p. 0.4 Ordinance No. G72-91 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 . 75 ENTITLED "CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION" OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976, AS AMENDED BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1 . That Chapter 3 . 75 entitled "Cultural Arts Commission" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended by amending Section 3 . 75 . 020 to read as follows : 3 . 75 . 020 Membership; appointment and term of office. The Commission shall consist of ten ( 10) members, all of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council . A. All members shall be residents of the City of Elgin who are known to have an interest and expertise in the functions of the Commission and who shall be voting members of the Commission. B. One member shall be a member of the Hemmens Advisory Board and shall be a non-voting ex-officio member of the Commission. C. One member shall be a member of the City Council of the City of Elgin and shall be an ex-officio member of the Commission and shall vote only in the event of a tie vote. Section 2 . That Chapter 3 . 75 entitled "Cultural Arts Commission" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended by amending Section 3 . 75 . 030A to read as follows : A. Upon creation of the Commission and the initial appointment of residents of Elgin as voting members, two such members shall be appointed for terms of four (4) years, two members for terms of three (3) years, two members for terms of two (2) years, and two members for a term of one ( 1) year. Section 3 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby repealed. 1 Section 4 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage in the manner provided by law.
