RECLASSIFYING PROPERTY LOCATED SOUTH OF BOWES ROAD AND
EAST OF RANDALL ROAD
WHEREAS, written application has been made to reclassify
certain property located south of Bowes Road and east of
Randall Road from R-2 single family residence district and R-4
general residence district to R-2 single family residence
district and R-4 general residence district; and
WHEREAS, the Land Use Committee has conducted a public
hearing after due notice and submitted its written findings
and recommendations to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the
recommendations of the Land Use Committee and concurs in such
recommendations .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That Chapter 19 . 08, Section 19 .08 .020
entitled "Zoning District Map" of the Elgin Municipal Code,
eft 1976, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by
adding thereto the following paragraph:
"The boundaries hereinafter laid out in the
' Zoning District Map' , as amended, be and are hereby
altered by excluding from the R-2 single family
residence district and including in the R-4 general
residence district, the following described property:
That part of the East half of the Southwest
quarter of Section 28, Township 41 North, Range 8
East of the Third Principal Meridian described as
follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of said
East half; thence North 89 degrees 58 minutes 16
seconds East along the North line of said Southwest
quarter 930 . 0 feet; thence South 00 degrees 14
minutes 52 seconds West parallel with the West line
of said East half 550 . 0 feet; thence South 9 degrees
04 minutes 22 seconds East 625 . 00 feet; thence South
59 degrees 10 minutes 38 seconds West 320 . 00 feet;
thence South 65 degrees 10 minutes 38 seconds West
254 . 91 feet for the place of beginning; thence
southwesterly along a curve to the left having a
radius of 1000 .00 feet, the chord of which bears
South 3 degrees 07 minutes 10 seconds West, an arc
distance of 262 .58 feet; thence South 4 degrees 24
'` minutes 10 seconds East, tangent to the last
described curve, 264 .47 feet; thence southeasterly
along a curve to the left having a radius of 300 . 00
feet and tangent to the last described course, an
arc distance of 118 . 13 feet; thence South 63 degrees
37 minutes 31 seconds West 74 . 72 feet to the
Northeast corner of the South 520 feet of the West
500 feet of the East half of said Southwest quarter;
thence South 89 degrees 42 minutes 20 seconds West
parallel with the South line of said Southwest
quarter 500.00 feet to the West line of the East
half of said Southwest quarter; thence North 00
degrees 14 minutes 52 seconds East along said West
line 321 . 32 feet; thence North 89 degrees 58 minutes
16 seconds East 176 . 76 feet; thence North 37 degrees
40 minutes 41 seconds East 320 . 0 feet; thence North
54 degrees 10 minutes 33 seconds East 130 .0 feet;
thence North 65 degrees 10 minutes 38 seconds East,
55. 09 feet to the place of beginning. Situated in
the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois and
containing 5 .4950 acres . "

Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval in the
manner provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form
by authority of the City Council .
