G15-91 t f'* Ordinance No. G15-91 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6.06 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE, 1976, AS AMENDED REGARDING THE SALE OF LIQUOR BY CATERING SERVICE DURING SPECIAL FUNCTIONS WHEREAS, the City of Elgin is an Illinois municipal corporation and a home rule unit pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of Illinois; and WHEREAS, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; . and WHEREAS, the regulation of the sale of alcoholic liquor is a matter ' pertaining to the government and affairs of the City of Elgin. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1 That Section 6.06.040 entitled "License- Classes-Fees" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, is hereby amended by adding the following: eak Class K. For retail sales of alcoholic liquor on a not-for-profit basis in conjunction with hors d'oeuvres and/or meals as provided by a catering service provider during special events sponsored and conducted by a corporation or association serving • employees or business related guests exclusively. All liquor provided under this section shall be for consumption upon the premises of the corporation or association only, and it is unlawful and cause for revocation of the license to sell any alcoholic liquor for consumption off the premises or in packages. This license shall authorize and include up to and including twenty (20) such special events per licensed year. The license fee shall be $850. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with this ordinance are repealed. Section 3.
