AN ORDINANCE
CLASSIFYING CERTAIN NEWLY ANNEXED TERRITORY
(Woodbridge South)
WHEREAS, the territory herein described has been annexed to the City of Elgin;
and
WHEREAS, written application has been made to classify said territory in the R-2
Single Family Residence District; and
WHEREAS, after due notice in the manner provided by law the Land Use
Committee conducted a public hearing concerning said application and has submitted its
written findings and recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin, Illinois, has reviewed the findings
and recommendations of the Land Use Committee and concurs in its recommendation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section I. That Chapter 19.08, Section 19.08.020, entitled "Zoning District Map"
of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and the same is hereby further
amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
"The boundaries hereinbefore laid out in the 'Zoning District Map', as
amended, be and are hereby altered by including in the R-2 Single Family
Residence District, the following described property:
That part of the North Half of Section 33, Township 41 North,
Range 8, East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest Corner of said Section 33; thence easterly
along the North line of said section, a distance of 1605.78 feet to the
Northeast corner of land conveyed by deed dated September 18, 1900 and
recorded December 10, 1990 in Book 404, Page 422 as Document 48033 for
the point of beginning; thence continuing easterly along the North lien of
said Section 33, a distance of 1035.92 feet to the Northeast corner of the
Northwest Quarter of said Section 33; thence easterly along the North line
of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 33, a distance of 990 feet to the
Northeast corner of the West 60 rods of said Northeast Quarter; thence
southerly along the East line of the West 60 rods of said Northeast Quarter,
a distance of 2661.9 feet to the Southeast corner thereof; thence westerly
along the South line of said Northeast Quarter, a distance of 990 feet to
the Southwest corner thereof; thence Westerly along the South line of the
Northwest Quarter of said Section 33, a distance of 2073.34 feet to a point
577.5 feet East of, as measured along said South line to Southwest corner
of said Northwest Quarter; thence northerly parallel with the West line of
said Northwest Quarter, a distance of 1216.28 feet to the center line of
Hopps Road; thence easterly along said center line, a distance of 1044.78
feet; thence northerly, a distance of 1438.05 feet to the place of beginning,
(except that part thereof, described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast
corner of the West 60 rods of said Northeast 1/4 of Section 33; thence
South 87° 59' I I" West along the South line of said Northeast 1/4 of Sec-
tion 33, a distance of 700.45 feet; thence North 2° 00' 49" West, a distance
of 140.00 feet; thence North 7° 03' 16" East, a distance of 60.76 feet;
thence North 0° 47' II" West, a distance of 368.00 feet; thence North 89°
12' 49" East, a distance of 140.00 feet; thence North 83° 14' 00" East, a
distance of 60.33 feet; thence North 89° 12' 49" East, a distance of 145.00
feet; thence North 0° 47' I I" West, a distance of 292.05 feet; thence North
89° 1 2' 49" East, a distance of 205.00 feet; thence North 0° 47' I I" West, a
distance of 117.46 feet; thence North 89° 12' 49" East, a distance of 145.00
feet to a point on the East line of the West 60 rods, aforesaid; thence South
0° 47' 11" East along said East line, a distance of 968.95 feet to the place
of beginning), in Kane County, Illinois."
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval in the manner provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet
form by authority of the City Council.
