G93-88 Ordinance No. G93-88 AN ORDINANCE CLASSIFYING CERTAIN NEWLY ANNEXED TERRITORY (1350 Bluff City Boulevard) WHEREAS, the territory herein described has been annexed to the City of Elgin; and WHEREAS, written application has been made to classify said territory in the B-4 General Service District; and WHEREAS, after due notice in the manner provided by law the Land Use Committee conducted a public hearing concerning said application and has submitted its written findings and recommendation; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin, Illinois, has reviewed the findings and recommendations of the Land Use Committee and concurs in its recommendation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section I. That Chapter 19.08, Section 19.08.020, entitled "Zoning District Map" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by adding thereto the following paragraph: "The boundaries hereinbefore laid out in the 'Zoning District Map', as amended, be and are hereby altered by including in the B-4 General Service District, the following described property: That part of the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 20, Township 41 North, Range 9 East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the center line of U.S. Route No. 20, according to the plat of dedication of public highway for a freeway recorded as Document No. 17976188, and the East line of the said West Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 20; thence North 71 degrees 49 minutes 26 seconds West, along said center line, a distance of 143.99 feet (record being 157.08 feet) to the center line of Lovell Road for the point of beginning, said point also being the West line of Commonwealth Edison Company property; thence South 06 degrees 53 minutes 21 seconds West, along said West line, a distance of 308.66 feet to the Northerly line as monumented of Parcel "A" of the plat of dedication of public highway for a freeway as Document No. 17993034; thence South 07 degrees 02 minutes 01 second West, along said West line of the Commonwealth Edison Company property, a distance of 103.84 feet to a line that is 102.00 feet, as measured perpendicular, Southerly of and parallel with the said Northerly line as monumented of Parcel "A"; thence North 72 degrees 10 minutes 18 seconds West along said parallel line, a distance of 278.77 feet to the Southerly extension of the West line as monumented of Document No. 24934596; thence North 06 degrees 28 minutes 35 seconds East, along said Southerly extension of and the West line as monumented, a distance of 414.88 feet to the aforesaid center line of U.S. Route No. 20; thence South 71 degrees 49 minutes 26 seconds East, along said center line, a distance of 282.42 feet to the point of beginning. Being situated in Hanover Township, Cook County, Illinois and containing 2.61 acres more or less." Section 2.
