AN ORDINANCE
CLASSIFYING CERTAIN NEWLY ANNEXED TERRITORY
(Sherman Hospital)
WHEREAS, the territory herein described has been annexed to the City of Elgin;
and
WHEREAS, written application has been made to classify said territory in the
0-Limited Office District; and
WHEREAS, after due notice in the manner provided by law the Land Use
Committee conducted a public hearing concerning said application and has submitted its
written findings and recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin, Illinois, has reviewed the findings
and recommendations of the Land Use Committee and concurs in its recommendation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section I. That Chapter 19.08, Section 19.08.020, entitled "Zoning District Map"
of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and the same is hereby further
amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
"The boundaries hereinbefore laid out in the 'Zoning District Map', as
amended, be and are hereby altered by including in the 0-Limited Office
District, the following described property:
Parcel One:
That part of the Northeast quarter of Section 26, Township 41 North,
Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows:
Commencing on the East line of Section 26 aforesaid, 983.4 feet South of
the Northeast corner of said Section 26, said point being on the South line
of land owned by the State of Illinois; thence West along said South line of
land owned by the State of Illinois, 1280.79 feet to the center of the
highway; thence South 26 degrees 53 minutes West along the center of said
highway, 23.15 feet; thence South 38 degrees 35 minutes West along the
center of said highway, 323.05 feet for the point of beginning; thence North
38 degrees 35 minutes East along said highway, 153 feet; thence North 55
degrees 10 minutes West, 268.9 feet to a point on said South line of land
owned by the State of Illinois 337.2 feet West of the center of said highway
(measured along the South line of land owned by the State of Illinois);
thence West along said South line, 83.21 feet; thence South 5 degrees 33
minutes West to a point North 57 degrees 30 minutes West from the point
of beginning; thence South 57 degrees 30 minutes East to the point of
beginning, in the Township of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois.
Parcel Two:
That part of the Northeast quarter of Section 26, Township 41 North,
Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows:
Commencing at a point on the East line of said Section 26, 983.4 feet South
of the Northeast corner of said Section 26, said point being on the South
line of land owned by the State of Illinois; thence West on said South line of
land owned by the State of Illinois, 1280.79 feet to the center line of the
highway; thence continuing West along the South line of land owned by the
State of Illinois, 420.41 feet to a point designated as Point "A"; thence East
along the South line of land owned by the State of Illinois, 420.41 feet to
the center line of the highway; thence South 26 degrees 53 minutes West
along said center line, 23.15 feet; thence South 38 degrees 35 minutes West
along said center line, 323.05 feet for a point of beginning; thence North 57
degrees 30 minutes West to a line drawn South 5 degrees 33 minutes from
Point "A" aforesaid; thence South 5 degrees 33 minutes West to a point on a
line drawn parallel with and 1313.4 feet South of the North line of said
Section 26; thence East, 195.65 feet to the center line of said highway;
thence northerly along said center line of the highway to the point of
beginning, in the Township of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois (said property is
located on South State Street)."
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval in the manner provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet
form by authority of the City Council.
