AN ORDINANCE 1
RECLASSIFYING PROPERTY AT 832 AND 840 EAST CHICAGO STREET
WHEREAS, written application has been made to reclassify certain property
located at 832 and 840 East Chicago Street from R-4 General Residence District and B-3
Service Business District to B-4 General Service District; and •
WHEREAS, the Land Use Committee has conducted a public hearing after due
notice and submitted its written findings and recommendations to the City Council; and •
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations of the Land Use i
Committee and concurs in such recommendations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 1
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section I. That Chapter 19.08, Section 19.08.020, entitled "Zoning District Mop"
of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and the same is hereby further
amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
"The boundaries hereinbef ore laid out in the 'Zoning District Map', as
amended, be and are hereby altered by excluding from the R-4 General
Residence District and B-3 Service Business District and including in the
B-4 General Service District, the following described property:
Lot 19 and the East 20 feet of Lot 18 in Lord's Park Terrace, a part

of Lot 16 of the County Clerks Subdivision in the Southwest Quarter of
Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 9 East of the Third Principal
Meridian, and Lot 20 in Lord's Park Terrace, a part of Lot 16 of the County
Clerk's Subdivision in the Southwest Quarter of Section 18, Township 41
North, Range 9 East of the Third Principal Meridian, in the City of Elgin, •
Cook County, Illinois."
Section 2. That the rezoning is granted subject to access limitations of one •
approach on Parcel I and one approach on Parcel 2.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its •
passage and approval in the manner provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet
form by authority of the City Council.

OF $4 ,950 ,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION CORPORATE
PURPOSE BONDS, SERIES 1988, OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, KANE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS,AND
PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF A
DIRECT ANNUAL TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE
PRINCIPAL OF AND INTEREST ON SAID BONDS
Councilman Gilliam made a motion , seconded by Councilman
Fox to approve the aforementioned Ordinance. Yeas: Councilmen
Fox, Gilliam, Moylan, Popple, Shales , Walters and Mayor
VanDeVoorde. Nays : None.
