G23-88 • Ordinance No. G23-88 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6.30 ENTITLED "ITINERANT MERCHANTS" OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE CONFORMANCE WITH THE TRANSIENT MERCHANT ACT BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section I. That Chapter 6.30 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended to read as follows: "Chapter 6.30 TRANSIENT MERCHANTS AND ITINERANT VENDORS 6.30.010 Definitions. Words or phrases as used in this chapter shall be defined as provided by Illinois Revised Statutes, 1987, Chapter 121'h, Paragraphs 1651 through 1658 inclusive, as amended. 6.30.020 License--Required. It is unlawful for any person, either as principal or agent, to conduct business as a transient merchant or itinerant vendor in the city without having first obtained a license therefore as is provided in this chapter. 6.30.030 License—Application--Duration. Every application for a license as required by Section 6.30.020 shall be made in writing to the police department and shall comply with the requirements of Illinois Revised Statutes, 1987, Chapter 121Y2, Paragraphs 1651 through 1658 inclusive, as amended. A license issued under this chapter shall expire on December 31 of the year it was issued. 6.30.040 License—Application Fee. The fee for such license shall be a license application fee of one hundred dollars." Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provi- sions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3.
