AN ORDINANCE
ADDING TO THE LIST OF SPECIAL USES IN THE B-3 SERVICE BUSINESS DISTRICT
TO PERMIT COMMUNITY SERVICE FACILITIES
WHEREAS, written application has been made to amend the provisions of
the zoning ordinance so as to permit community service facilities as an
additional special use in the B-3 Service Business District; and
WHEREAS, the Elgin Planning Committee held a public hearing concerning
the proposed amendment after due notice in the manner provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the Elgin Planning Committee has submitted its written
findings and recommendation that the requested amendment be granted; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin, Illinois, concurs in
the findings and recommendations of the Planning Committee, except that it
finds that such uses are not appropriate in the B-1 Community Business
District and B-2 Central Business District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Section 19.32.030 of Chapter 19.34 of the Elgin
Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be amended by adding the following:
row "8. Community service facilities."
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage in the manner provided by law.
