G32-83 Ordinance No. G32-83 AN ORDINANCE LIMITING THE WEIGHT OF VEHICLES PERMITTED ON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF ELGIN BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Title 11 of Chapter 11.24 of Section 11.24.410 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and is hereby further amended to read as follows: A. It is unlawful for any person to operate any motor vehicle on, upon or over the following streets when such vehicle, with or without load, exceeds ten thousand pounds: Lawrence Avenue from McLean Boulevard to State Street (Illinois Route 31) ; McClure Avenue from Highland Avenue to Wing Street; Bent Street from Liberty Street to Villa Street. B. The city traffic engineer shall cause signs indicating the foregoing weight limit to be erected and maintained to and upon the approaches to the foregoing streets. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby repealed. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. s/ Richard L.
