G68-80B Ordinance No. G68-80 AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE FOR A PUBLIC SERVICE FACILITY ON THE NORTH SIDE OF JERUSHA AVENUE, EAST OF NORTH STATE STREET WHEREAS, a written application has been made for a special use permit for a public service facility on property located on the north side of Jerusha Avenue, east of North State Street; and WHEREAS, the Land Use Committee conducted a public hearing after due notice as required by law and has submitted its written findings and recommendations; and WHEREAS, the Land Use Committee has recommended that the special use requested be granted; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin concurs in the findings and recommendations of the Land Use Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the City Council hereby adopts the findings of the Land Use Committee, a copy of which are attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference as Exhibit A, to the effect that the special use re- quested is deemed necessary for the public convenience, is so designed, located and proposed to be operated that the public health, safety and welfare will be protected and that the proposed special use will not cause substantial injury to the value of other property in the neighborhood in which it is located. Section 2. That a special use be and is hereby granted for the con- struction, establishment and maintenance of a public service facility con- sisting of a maintenance facility, offices and community room to serve the Elgin Housing Authority, upon the following legally described property: Vacated Lots 10 and 11 in Block 5 of Sadler!s Addition, being a subdivision of part of Section 11, Township 41 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. upon the condition that the special use herein granted shall be developed and maintained in substantial conformity with the site plan prepared by Burnidge and Cassell, Architects, and attached hereto as Exhibit B and in accordance with all applicable statutes, codes and ordinances. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage in the manner provided by law. s/ Richard L. Verbic Richard L.
