AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ELGIN ZONING ORDINANCE TO DEFINE
COMMUNITY SERVICE FACILITIES
WHEREAS, written application has been made to amend the text of the
Elgin Zoning Ordinance relating to the definition of community service
facilities; and
WHEREAS, after due notice the Planning Committee conducted a public
hearing and has recommended that the application for an amendment to the
text of the Elgin Zoning Ordinance relating to community service facilities
be granted; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin concurs in the recom-
mendations of the Planning Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That there is hereby added to Chapter 19 of the Elgin
Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, the following:
"19.04.168 Community service facilities.
,., 'Community service facilities' means community services
on a not-for-profit basis deemed necessary for the public
benefit."
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage in the manner provided by law and shall be published
in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
