T15-79Ordinance No. T15 -79 AN ORDINANCE ABATING THE TAX LEVY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ELGIN FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1979 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1979 WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has heretofore passed an annual tax levy ordinance, Ordinance No. T7 -79, levying a general tax against all taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of Elgin and has caused certified copies of said ordinance to be filed with the county clerks of Kane and Cook County, respectively; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the City of Elgin will receive revenues from the Corporate Personal Property Tax replacement Fund; and WHEREAS, the receipt of such revenues will reduce the amount required to be raised by taxes upon real property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the total amount to be raised by taxation for general corporate purposes shown on page (15) of ordinance T7 -79, be and is hereby abated by the sum of $80,808. Section 2. That the total amount to be raised by taxation for police pension purposes shown on page (23) of ordinance T7 -79, be and is hereby abated in the amount of $69,697. Section 3. That the total amount to be raised by taxation for firemen's pension purposes shown on page (23) of ordinance T7 -79, be and is hereby abated in the amount of $79,798. Section 4. That the total amount to be raised by taxation for the Municipal Retirement Fund shown on page (16) of ordinance T7 -79, be and is hereby abated in the amount of $38,484. Section 5. That the balance of the amount for the purposes described above shall remain in full force and effect. Section 6. That the total amount to be raised by taxation shall be reduced by the amount abated above. Section 7. That the City Clerk of the City of Elgin be and is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Clerks of Kane and Cook Counties, respectively. s/ Richard L.
