AN ORDINANCE
ABATING 1979 TAX LEVY FOR ELGIN TRANSIT SYSTEM BONDS
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has heretofore levied a tax sufficient to
produce the sum of $25,687.50 for payment of principal and interest on
City of Elgin Transit System Bonds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin will have sufficient funds on hand to make
payment of said sum without the collection of the aforesaid tax.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the 1979 tax of $25,687.50 levied for the payment
of City of Elgin Transit System Bonds be and is hereby abated and cancelled
in its entirety.
Section 2. That the City Clerk shall cause a certified copy of this
ordinance to be filed with the Clerks of Cook and Kane Counties, respectively.
