AN ORDINANCE
CLASSIFYING CERTAIN NEWLY ANNEXED TERRITORY
WHEREAS, the territory herein described has been annexed to the City
of Elgin pursuant to the terms of an annexation agreement between the
City of Elgin and the owners of record of said territory; and
WHEREAS, the annexation agreement concerning said territory provides
that the City of Elgin shall proceed to classify the territory in accordance
with its terms; and
WHEREAS, all required public hearings have been conducted and all
notices required to be given by law have been given.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Chapter 19.08, Section 19.08.020, entitled "Zoning
District Map" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
"The boundaries hereinbefore laid out in the 'Zoning
District Map) , as amended, be and are hereby altered by
including in R-2, Single-Family Residence District, the
following described property:
That part of Section 7, Township 41 North, Range 9 East
of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Commenc-
ing at the intersection of the Northerly line of a tract of
land conveyed by Josiah Horn to Freelove Horn, his wife, by
Deed dated February 10, 1891, as Document No. 1418900 in Book
3265, page 256 with the Easterly line of land formerly owned
by Josiah Horn being also the Westerly line of the Stewart-
Warner property; thence Northerly along said Easterly line of
land formerly owned by Josiah Horn, a distance of 472.96 feet
for the place of beginning; thence Northwesterly along a line
which forms an angle of 30 degrees 19 minutes 57 seconds to the
left with the prolongation of the last described course, a
distance of 327.97 feet; thence Northeasterly along a line that
forms an angle of 81 degrees 43 minutes 10 seconds to the right
with the prolongation of the last described course, a distance
of 20.0 feet; thence Northwesterly along a line which forms
an angle of 97 degrees 24 minutes 13 seconds to the left with
the prolongation of the last described course, a distance of
154.47 feet; thence Northeasterly along a curve to the left
having a radius of 521.92 feet (the chord of said curve forms an
angle of 88 degrees 30 minutes 09 seconds to the right with the
prolongation of the last described course) a distance of 40.0
feet; thence Southeasterly along a line which forms an angle of
87 degrees 48 minutes 16 seconds to the right with the prdlonga-
rLion of the chord of the last described curve, a distance of
149.64 feet; thence Northeasterly along a line which forms an
angle of 97 degrees 14 minutes 34 seconds to the left with the
prolongation of the last described course, a distance of 220.05
feet to the Easterly line of land formerly owned by Josiah Horn,
as aforesaid; thence Southerly along said Easterly line a distance

Hanover Township, Cook County, Illinois and containing 1,118
Acres more or less,"
Section 2, That Chapter 19°08, Section 190080020, entitled "Zoning
District Map" of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
"The boundaries hereinbefore laid out in the 'Zoning
District Map' , as amended, be and are hereby altered by
including in R-2, Single-Family Residence District, the
following described property:
That part of Section 7, Township 41 North, Range 9

Beginning at the intersection of the Northerly line of a
tract of land conveyed by Josiah Horn to Freelove Horn, his
wife, by Deed dated February 10, 1891 and recorded February 14,
1891, as Document No. 1418900 in Book 3265, page 256, with the
Easterly line of land formerly owned by Josiah Horn, being also
the Westerly line of the Stewart-Warner property; thence North-
erly along said Easterly line of land formerly owned by Josiah
Horn, a distance of 472096 feet; thence Northwesterly along a

feet to the Easterly line of land formerly owned by Josiah Horn,
as aforesaid; thence Northerly along said Easterly line, a
distance of 365°0 feet to a point on said Easterly line that is
802.32 feet Southerly of (measured along said Easterly line)
the Southerly line of a tract of land conveyed by Josiah Horn
and his wife to Jessie Horn by deed dated February 10, 1891, and
recorded February 17, 1891 as Document No. 1420336 in Book 3418,
page 149; thence Westerly at right angles to the last described
course, a distance of 214.55 feet; thence Northwesterly along a
curve to the left having a radius of 625.07 feet (the chord of
said curve forms an angle of 44 degrees 13 minutes 05 seconds to
the right with the prolongation of the last described course), `'"

radial to the last described curve, a distance of 120.0 feet;
thence Northwesterly along a line which forms an angle of 79
degrees 07 minutes 17 seconds to the left with the prolongation

the right with the prolongation of the last described course, a
distance of 68.0 feet to the Southerly line, extended Westerly,
of land conveyed to Jessie Horn, as aforesaid; thence Easterly
along said Southerly line, extended Westerly, a distance of 30.0
feet to the Southwest corner of lands conveyed by Josiah Horn
and wife to Jessie Horn, as aforesaid; thence Northerly along the
Westerly line of said tract, a distance of 288.75 feet to the
center line of Shoe Factory Road; thence Westerly along the center
line of Shoe Factory Road, a distance of 464.95 feet to an angle
point in said center line; thence Westerly along said center line,
a distance of 41.81 feet to the Easterly line of Lord's Park Manor
Unit No. 9, being a Subdivision of part of Lot 5 of the Circuit
Court Partition of part of Sections 6 and 7, Township and Range
aforesaid; thence Southerly along the Westerly line of said Lord's
Park Manor Unit No. 9, and along the Easterly lines of Lord's Park
Manor Unit No. 6 and Lord's Park Manor Unit No. 7, both being a
Subdivision of part of Lot 5 of the Circuit Court Partition of

said tract of land conveyed to Jessie Horn, a distance of 165.0
feet to the Easterly line of land formerly owned by Josiah Horn,
being also the Westerly line of the Stewart-Warner property;
thence Southerly along said Easterly line of land formerly owned
by Josiah Horn, a distance of 802.32 feet; thence Westerly at
right angles to the last described course, a distance of 214.55 feet;
thence Northwesterly along a curve to the left having a radius of

the Southerly line, extended Westerly, of land conveyed to Jessie
Horn, as aforesaid; thence Easterly along said Southerly line,
extended Westerly,_-a distance of 30.0 feet to the place of
beginning. Being situated in Hanover Township, Cook County,
Illinois and containing 5.533 Acres more or less."
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten
days after its passage and approval and shall be published in pamphlet form
by authority of the City Council.
