AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 6.54 ENTITLED "SCAVENGERS" OF THE
ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Section 6.54.010 of Chapter 6.54 of the Elgin Municipal
Code, 1976, as amended, is amended to read as follows:
"6.54.010 License--Required.
It is unlawful for any person to carry on the business of
hauling, collecting and disposing of garbage, trash, ashes,
animal, human or vegetable refuse or offal within the city
limits, without having first obtained a license to engage in
such business from the city."
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten
days after its passage and publication in pamphlet form by authority of the
City Council.
