AN ORDINANCE
6 RECLASSIFYING CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED AT
108 BELLE AVENUE
WHEREAS, written application has been made to reclassify certain
property located at 108 Belle Avenue, Elgin, Illinois, from R-2, Single
Family Residence District, to B-1, Community Business District; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was conducted by the Land Use Committee
after due notice in the manner provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the Land Use Committee has recommended that the application
be granted; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the recommendation of the Land
Use Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Section 19.08.020 of Chapter 19.08 of Title 19 of
the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and the same is hereby
further amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
"The boundaries hereinbefore laid out in the 'Zoning
District Map' , as amended, be and are hereby altered by
excluding fruit R-2, Single Family Residence District, and
including in B-1, Community Business District, the follow-
ing described property:
Lots 3 and 4, Block 3 of Sadler's Addition to Elgin,
in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois."
Section 2. That in the exercise of the police power and in order to
promote the public health, safety and welfare, access to the subject property
shall be limited to Belle Avenue and no access shall be permitted from the
property on to North State Street, also known as State Route 31.
