T6-77 Ordinance No. T6-77 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF ELGIN WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three-fourths of the City Council of the City of Elgin, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the City of Elgin to retain personal property now owned by it; and WHEREAS, the City of Elgin will hold a public auction to sell the said personal property to the highest bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, 1975, the City Council find the following described personal property, to-wit: Boys and girls bicycles and bicycle parts, one fogger, six push type lawn mowers, one four-wheel dolly, one snow blower, two Jacobsen lawn mowers, one radial arm saw with table, one gray 3-drawer file cabinet, one Allen Wales manual adding machine, one Victor calculator, one adding machine, one typewriter. now owned by the City of Elgin is no longer necessary or useful to the City of Elgin and the best interests of the City of Elgin will be served by its sale. Section 2. Purshant to Section 11-76-4 the Purchasing Agent be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to sell the above described personal property now owned by the City of Elgin at a public auction to be held April 9, 1977 starting at 9:00 A.M. , and to be held at the Hemmens Memorial Building, Elgin, Illinois. Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a notice of the proposed sale of the above described property to be published in the Daily Courier-News not less than seven (7) days prior to the date of the public auction. Section 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and are hereby repealed. Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, by at least three-fourths of all the City Council, and approval in the manner provided by law. s/ Richard L .
