AN ORDINANCE
FOR THE LEVY AND ASSESSMENT OF TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING
DECEMBER 31, 1977 IN AND FOR THE CITY OF ELGIN SPECIAL SERVICE AREA
NUMBER TWO
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. Findings: That the City of Elgin Special Service Area
Number Two has been created by an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Esta-
blishing Special Service Area Number Two in the City of Elgin" passed and
effective on September 7, 1977; that the ;:orporate authorities of the City
of Elgin, acting as the governing board of City of Elgin Special Service
Area Number Two are authorized to levy taxes for special services in said
special service area.
Section 2. That the total amount of appropriations for all urposes
to be collected from the tax levy for the current fiscal year in City of
Elgin Special Service Area Number Two is ascertained to be the sum of
$147,300.
Section 3. That the full sums be and the same hereby are levied upon
all taxable property as defined in the Revenue Act of 1939 in City of Elgin
Special Service Area Number Two, said tax to be levied for the fiscal year
ending December 31, 1977:

Section 4. The tax levied herein is pursuant to the provisions of
Article VII, Section 6A and 6L of the Constitution of the State of Illinois
and pursuant to Public Act 78-901 and to an ordinance establishing City of
Elgin Special Service Area Number Two.
Section 5. That it is hereby certified to the County Clerk of Kane County,
Illinois, the sum aforesaid, which total amount City of Elgin Special Service
Area Number Two requires to be raised by taxes for the current fiscal year and
the City Clerk of the City of Elgin is hereby ordered and directed to file with
the County Clerk of the County of Kane on or before the time required by law a
certified copy of this ordinance.

Section 6. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval as provided by law.

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Elgin City
Council , Councilman West made a motion, seconded by Councilman
Barnes to adjourn the meeting. Yeas : Councilmen Barnes ,
Beckmann, Hill , Strattan, West and Mayor Verbic. Nays : None.
