AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ELGIN ZONING ORDINANCE RECLASSIFYING CERTAIN PROPERTY
IN UNIT 5 OF COLLEGE PARK SUBDIVISION
WHEREAS, written application has been made to reclassify certain
property located in Unit 5 of College Park Subdivision from R-5, General
Residence District, to R-2, Single Family Residence District; and
WHEREAS, the Land Use Committee has conducted a public hearing after
due notice and submitted its report and recommendations to the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations of the Land
Use Committee and concurs in such recommendations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Section 19.08.020 of Chapter 19.08 of Title 19 of
the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as amended, be and the same is hereby
further amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
"The boundaries hereinbefore laid out in the 'Zoning
District Map' , as amended, be and are hereby altered by
excluding from R-5, General Residence District, and including
in R-2, Single Family Residence District, the following
described property:
That part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter of Section 21, Township 41 North, Range 8 East of
the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Commenc-
ing at the Southwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of said
Northwest Quarter; thence Northerly along the West line of
the Southeast Quarter of said Northwest Quarter, a distance
of 684.53 feet for the place of beginning; thence Easterly at
right angles to the last described course, a distance of
415. 08 feet to the Northwesterly line extended Southwesterly
of Elgin Sanitary District property, thence Northeasterly
along said Northwesterly line extended Southwesterly and along
said Northwesterly line, a distance of 389.77 feet to the
Westerly line of Gale Street as platted in the City of Elgin;
thence Northwesterly along said Westerly line, being along a
curve to the right having a radius of 360.0 feet (the chord
of said curve forms an angle of 67 degrees 06 minutes 41
seconds to the left with the prolongation of the last described
course), a distance of 227.61 feet; thence Northerly along said
Westerly line, being tangent to the last described curve, a
distance of 150.0 feet to the South line of South Street;
thence Westerly along said South line being at right angles to
the last described course, a distance of 627.03 feet to the
West line of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter
of Section 21 as aforesaid; thence Southerly along said West
line, a distance of 610.03 feet to the place of beginning.
Being situated in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois, and
containing 8.605 Acres more or less. (Located at the Southwest
corner of South Street and Gale Street.)"

Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage in the manner provided by law and shall be published
in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
