AN ORDINANCE
REVISING THE 1977 BUDGET OF THE CITY OF ELGIN
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin pursuant to the provisions of Section 8-2-9.4
of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes passed an annual budget for the
1977 fiscal year in lieu of an appropriation ordinance; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-2-9.6 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes
authorizes the corporate authorities, by a vote of 2/3 of the members then
holding office, to make revisions in the municipality's annual budget; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Elgin to make certain
revisions in the 1977 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the annual budget for the year ending December 31, 1977
heretofore adopted by the City of Elgin in lieu of an appropriation ordinance
be and is hereby revised as follows:
A. That the sub-classes under the classification of General
Fund be and are hereby revised in the following manner:
eft Classification 190, Non-Departmental, 955 Contingencies,
be and are hereby reduced in the amount of $319,520.
B. That the following classifications are revised by adding
the amounts shown:
Classification 020, Finance Department, 970 Capital
Additions (computer requirements) , $5,000
Classification 030, Department of Buildings, 850 Repair E
Maintenance Services (boiler repairs) , $7,900
Classification 030, Department of Buildings, 970 Capital

Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage in the manner provided by law.
