AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 6.57 OF THE ELGIN MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED
"SERVICE STATIONS"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Chapter 6.57, Section 6.57.180, entitled "Self-
service dispensing prohibited" be and is hereby repealed.
Section 2. That Chapter 6.57 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976, as
amended, is amended by adding the following:
"6.57.180 Self-service stations
Rules 15(B) and 15(D) of the 'Rules and Regulations Relating
to the Storage, Transportation, Sale, and Use of Gasoline and
Volatile Oils, ' effective May 1, 1977, are hereby adopted as the
regulations governing the self-service dispensing of motor fuels
within the City of Elgin together with such other amendments as
are hereinafter set forth in this chapter.
6.57.185 Safety requirements for self-service stations
It shall be a violation of this chapter for any self-service
eft- station to violate any rule or regulation stated in Section 6.57.180
or to install an approved self-service dispensing device without a
holding circuit."
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten
days after its passage in the manner provided by law and shall be published
in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
