AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING FEES FOR PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That there is hereby established a schedule of fees for
permits and inspections required by applicable ordinances of the City of
Elgin:
I. BUILDING:
A. NEW CONSTRUCTION;
1. Residential:
Basic Fee $ 5.00

Per 100 sq. ft. , or portion thereof of overall
area of each floor above and below grade $ 4. 00

E. REFUNDS;
No fees shall be refunded where permit has lapsed as
specified elsewhere. Where permit is revoked at
the request of the applicant prior to lapsing due
to time limits, and no work has been done under the
permit, all but the basic fee may be refunded.

Section 2. That Section 19-106(b) , Article I of Chapter 19 of the Elgin
City Code, be and is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That Section 19-106(c) , Article I of Chapter 19 of the Elgin

Section 25. That Ordinance No. G-969, passed April 26, 1962, be and is
hereby repealed.
Section 26. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance be and is hereby repealed.

Section 27. That any permit fees or inspection fees not included in
this schedule shall remain in full force and effect until amended in the
manner provided by law.
