AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ELGIN
RELATING TO SPEED RESTRICTIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Title 11, Chapter 11.16 of the Elgin Municipal Code,
1976, as amended, is hereby amended by adding to the streets designated
as having a maximum speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour under
Section 11.16. 030B the following:
"Riverside Drive on the outer "thru" traffic lanes."
Section 2. That Title 11, Chapter 11.16 of the Elgin Municipal Code,
1976, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding Subsection E to read
as follows:
"E. Fifteen Miles Per Hour: There is established an
absolute maximum speed limit for vehicles of the first division
of fifteen miles per hour along and upon the following streets and
highways in the city.
Riverside Drive on the inner section at the rear of
the stores."
Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage in the manner provided by law and shall be published
in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
