AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Section 2.40. 240 of the Elgin Municipal Code--1976,
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"2.40.240 Service provided only in emergency case.
Emergency ambulance service provided by the fire department of
the city shall be provided only in cases of actual and extreme
emergency to injured persons and only for the purpose of trans-
porting said persons to hospitals located within the City of
Elgin, Illinois. Service shall be limited to transportation of
critically ill or injured persons whose lifes are threatened
unless medical treatment is immediately rendered."
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
after passage.
