G4-76 Ordinance No. G4-76 tow AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE IV. ENTITLED "THE ADOPTION AND ADMINISTRATION OF POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLANS" OF CHAPTER 6 OF THE CITY CODE (ORDINANCE NO. S-569, PASSED DECEMBER 23, 1955) AS PERTAINS TO THE COMPENSATION PLAN AND TO THE SCHEDULE OF STANDARD SALARY RANGES AND THE OFFICIAL SALARY PLAN OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS AS AMENDED WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin has heretofore ratified and approved negotiated understandings reached by the City of Elgin's Wage and Benefit Committee and various Employee Relations Committees; and WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has agreed to implement a new schedule for certain employees as described herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That effective July 4, 1976 the salary ranges established shall be adjusted as follows: 'A' series ranges (A/B/C/D & E) to be increased two percent (2%) 'F' range to be increased one and one-half percent (1%%) 'L' series ranges (L $ NO to be increased two percent (2%) 'S' series ranges (S E T) to be increased two percent (2%) Section 4. That effective July 4, 1976 there shall be an additional salary increase of the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers -- Chicago, All Items (1967= 100) (herein called "CPI") for the month of May, 1976 (as made available in June, 1976) has increased over the preceding CPI for the month of May, 1975 as follows: 'F' range to be adjusted for each full one-half of one percent (%%) increase in the CPI between May, 1975 and May, 1976 above six and one-half percent (6 1/2%) , there shall be a salary increase calculated by multiplying each such full t'' one-half percent (z%) increase by .8. 'L' series ranges (L & NO to be adjusted for each full one-half of one percent (%%) increase in the CPI between May, 1975 and May, 1976 above six and one-half percent (611%), there shall be a salary increase calculated by multiplying each such full one-half percent (11%) increase by .8. 'S' series ranges (S $ T) to be adjusted for each full one percent (1%) increase in the CPI between May, 1975 and May, 1976 above six percent (6%) , there shall be a salary increase calculated by multiplying each such full one per- cent (1%) increase by .8. Section 5. That effective January 2, 1977, the salary ranges established shall be adjusted as follows: 'F' range to be increased five and one-half percent (5 1/2%) 'L' series ranges (L & NO to be increased five and one-half percent (51/2%) 'S' series ranges (S & T) to be increased four percent (4%) Section 6. That effective July 3, 1977 the salary ranges established shall be adjusted as follows: emk 'F' range to be increased one and one-half percent (12%) 'L' series ranges (L $ NO to be increased two percent (2%) 'S' series ranges (S & T) to be increased two percent (2%) Section 7. That effective July 3, 1977 there shall be an additional salary increase of the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers -- Chicago, All Items (1967= 100) (herein called "CPI") for the month of May, 1977 (as made available in June, 1977) has increased over the preceding CPI for the month of May, 1976 as follows: 'F' ranges to be adjusted for each full one-half of one percent (%%) increase in the CPI between May, 1976 and May, 1977 above six and one-half percent (61/2%) , there shall be a salary increase calculated by multiplying each such full one-half percent (2%) increase by .8. 'L' series ranges (L $ NO to be adjusted for each full one-half of one percent (2%) increase in the CPI between May, 1976 and May, 1977 above seven and one-half percent (7z%) , there shall be a salary increase calculated by multiplying each such full one-half percent (%%) increase by .8. 'S' series ranges (S E T) to be adjusted for each full one per- cent (1%) increase in the CPI between May, 1976 and May, 1977 above six percent (6%) , there shall be a salary increase calculated by multiplying each such full one percent (1%) increase by .8. Section 8. That Section 11 of Ordinance No. G-1648 establishing a benefit program for certain management employees is hereby amended by adding the positions of Deputy Police Chief, Purchasing Agent, Greens Superintendent and Parks Supervisor, to the positions included within "" the benefit program. Section 9. That Section 12 of Ordinance No. G-1648 establishing a benefit program for certain management employees is hereby amended by deleting the position of Parking Meter and Sign Superintendent and adding the positions of Fire Captain, Chief Plant Operator, Lab Technician and Dispatcher, to the positions included within the benefit program. Section 10. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to prepare an appropriate schedule reflecting the foregoing amendments to the salary ranges of the City of Elgin. Section 11. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 12. That Section 17-1003 of Article X of Chapter 17 of the Elgin City Code, as amended, is hereby amended by adding to the designated places where parking is prohibited under Subsection 17-1003-3(c)13 the following: Brook Street, west side, from Water Street to North Street. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3.
