AN ORDINANCE
RELATING TO ELECTION PRECINCTS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. Precincts Boundaries. That the City of Elgin in the Counties
of Cook and Kane, Illinois, be, and it hereby is divided into voting precincts
as provided by Statute for Municipal Elections held in said City of Elgin, as
follows:
PRECINCT NO. 1
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Logan Avenue and
Slade Avenue in the City of Elgin; thence Westerly along the center
line of Slade Avenue to the center line of North Grove Avenue; thence
Northerly along the center line of North Grove Avenue to the center
line of Slade Avenue running Westerly from North Grove Avenue; thence
Westerly along the center line of Slade Avenue to the center thread
of Fox River; thence Northeasterly along the center thread of Fox

County Line and the center line of Shoe Factory Road; thence Westerly
along the center line of Shoe Factory Road to the Easterly line of
Section 7; thence Southerly along the Easterly lines of Section 7
and 18 to the center line of Park Avenue; thence Westerly along the
center line of Park Avenue to the Cook-Kane County Line; thence North-
erly along the Cook-Kane County Line to the place of beginning.
Section 2. Interpretation. That the described boundaries as set forth in
Section 1 shall be along the center line of the streets described unless other-
wise designated and shall include the boundary line of the City of Elgin as
provided by the ordinances of the City of Elgin. The words "Fox River" shall
be construed to mean the center thread of the Fox River. Streets named herein
shall include the lines thereof as extended when such extension is required to
complete the boundary of any precinct.
Section 3. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be,
and the same are, hereby repealed and of no further force and effect.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet
form by authority of the City Council.
