G2-75 Ordinance No. G2-75 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING E?EMPTIONS FROM THE PROVISIONS OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS ACT WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has previously adopted the provisions of Division 2.10 of Article 10 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, 1973, providing for the application of the Board of Fire and Police Commis- sioners Act to full time firemen and full time policemen; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Constitution of 1970 the City of Elgin is a home rule unit authorized to exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to exempt certain positions from the application of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners Act. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the position of deputy chief in the Police Department of the City of Elgin be and is hereby declared to be exempt from the provi- sions of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners Act as adopted by the City of Elgin. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3.
